Thunderstorms of a Broken Heart

“Thunderstorms Come But Sunshine Returns”

Lightening flashes across the night sky,
Anger’s fiery darts reverberate in the soul;
Seething rain clouds unburden their heavy load,
Bitter tears flow from indignant eyes;
Parched lands drink deeply from heaven’s water,
Reminiscent of an unquenchable love thirst, intensely savoured.

Muddy streams overflow into sewers,
The stench of betrayal pervades the night air;
Thunder peals over and over again,
Vehement denials resound through accusations;
The sky flashes momentarily with Lightning’s afterglow,
Eyes meet briefly and the lie is revealed to the broken heart.
