Weep not, O gentle lady, for the lover of your soul,
For the gift of your passion, his heart can never hold,
For love’s dark side is many a woman’s sting,
A thirst for the wholeness that a true heart could bring,
Yet romantic love is fleeting; committed love even more untrue,
As lustful eyes turn away, feasting on Wild Flowers along the way,
His passion for you withering as the years roll by,
Leaving only memories of young love’s consummation,
And the bittersweet reality of duty and obligation;
Rest sad heart, do not cry; do not ponder, do not ask why?
Rather, surrender to the healing that comes through letting go
Of the bitterness and pain that holds a soul in deepest woe
Setting free the wounded heart to LOVE again!
